If I understand Burt's proposal, it means that if my superior uses T61 encoding (say in the certificate that I am expected to be subordinate to), then I should use T61 encoding in the RDNs that I add on (say an OU component and the terminating CN). This would mean that I should *not* use PrintableString for OUs below OUs (and other attributes) that use T61. Correct? In essence this means that the character encoding becomes part of my DN for all practical purposes. -Jeff
