Steve,
I agree with your analysis, but suspect that someone who
exhibits due dilligence in validating a signature, checking CRLs, etc.
would be justified in taking actions based on the presumed validity of
the signature and thus would be protected, from a liability
standpoint. Nothing is ever certain, 'cept death and taxes!
