As Marshall Rose says, if two Internet users meet, they exchange email
addresses and can send email to each other. If an Internet mail user
and an X.400 mail user meet, they agree that the X.400 user will send
mail to the Internet mail user so the X.400 address can be captured
and then they can probably exchange mail. If two X.400 mail users
meet, they communicate later by telephone.
