Try a mixed residential and organizational X.500 dua and see!
telnet paradise.ulcc.ac.uk, login as "dua"!
(paradise.ulcc.ac.uk is equivalent to 128.86.8.56, for those without DNS)
Stop bemoaning the world. Try it!
Peter.
(The CNRI DSA is *never* available, in my experience! I suppose just
like X.400 88 security is afailure because the academic links are not
conformant to the published spec, then X.500 is a failure
becauses the servers are unavailable! Same quality of logic!)

Subject: New release of DE
Date: Tue, 01 Feb 94 17:11:23 +0000
From: Paul Barker <P(_dot_)Barker(_at_)uk(_dot_)ac(_dot_)ucl(_dot_)cs>
Dear all,
A new release of the DE user interface is available from:
ftp://cs.ucl.ac.uk/dirpilot/de-6.0.tar.Z
This is the version which can be accessed by:
telnet://paradise.ulcc.ac.uk and login as dua
The main upgrades since de-5.0 are the QOS database, sorted results for
person entries (which hitherto tended to come out in first name order), and
strong authentication.
The idea behind the QOS database is to give users a better idea of
availability and performance for parts of the directory where both of these
aspects leave something to be desired.
DE needs to be built against the OSISEC security libraries to
use the strong authentication features.
DE should build within or outside of an ISODE-8.0 tree. It can also be
compiled against an ICR1 release. The minimum isode requirements are
libraries and header files.
The release can also be built to run over LDAP. In this guise it can also
be built on a DOS machine.
Comments or questions on the release and/or functionality to me.
Paul
