With this feature, it is possible to support what is widely purported as
the PGP validation model: a user simply sets the flag on all received
certificates for which the public key has been verified by some
out-of-band mechanism (perhaps a phone call). Thus the certification
path is always of length 1.
This is, in fact, NOT the PGP validation model. There's enough
confusion about what the real PGP validation model without needing some
more...... :-)
Since discussion about what PGP is all about is out-of-scope on this
list, people who are interested in discovering what the PGP validation
model are encouraged to obtain a PGP distribution and read the
documentation concerning it.
