We have had mountains of discussion on the consequences of evaluating
the originator of a message 25 years after it was signed. This
age-limited published address is a wonderful example of where
addressing schemes (which inevitably change due to scaling needs and
innovation) are inappropriate for certification.
The question is whether the ID was valid then and/or whether I can get away
with claiming it wasn't me. In effect, using the email address as the id
requires
that a time-stamp be associated with it.
A different problem is trying to correlate two ids as referring to the same
person,
e.g., dcrocker(_at_)udel-relay with
dcrocker(_at_)mordor(_dot_)stanford(_dot_)edu, but my own guess is
that that's a bogus task.
