If you don't have them already, don't forget to include the gems in
Chapter 8 of Marshall Rose's "The Open Book: A Practical Perspective
on OSI".

In summary, it does not appear that there is anything that is inherently
wrong with ASN.1 per se.

I am compiling a list of things which are truly wrong with ASN.1.  It's not
very long, but it should have been empty.  It is growing very slowly.
Contributions are welcome.

I will not offer it now (have to get back to work) or suggest it to the ISO
(who might decide to improve ASN.1 (shudder)).  Rather, I'll keep it
running for use in developing what I believe will be a correct replacement.
