jhi,
Sorry for the long silence. My load average has been high this week.

(*) Small limited bug fixes still okay, bu no new features. With
modules, specially those coming from CPAN, it depends, mainly on what
the author thinks. Document patches always okay, test patches okay
only if they reveal no new bugs :-) After RC1 I will get even crankier
on accepting anything but core-dump fixing patches or platform-specific
tweaks.
5.7.3 schedule is okay but 5.8.0 RC1 seems too fast when Encode is
concerned. As you know Chinese (both Traditional and Simplified)
remains kaputt and no report was there for Korean.
I would appreciate if you gave us more time between 5.7.x and 5.8.
Well, Since Encode is already CPAN-savvy (and it has to because any
given charset including Unicode is "unstable" according to your
signature :), we should not worry about it that much.
But one thing I would like to make sure. When are we going to make
Encode available at CPAN? And then who is going to be the maintainer.
You? Nick? Me?
