I'd like to thank Joshua Lewis (hopefully no relation to regular poster Jon
Lewis) correcting the internet addresses I had for
Yosio(_at_)osak(_dot_)ac(_dot_)jp(_dot_)iosphere(_dot_)net and the
postmaster(_at_)osak(_dot_)ac(_dot_)jp(_dot_)iosphere(_dot_)net as
when I replied to the original spam I simply used the reply to butonon
Eudora - and do you know what - both messages bounced.
And then there's Jim De Arras supporting Josh's contention with an almighty
AMEN. Funny how his
mail reference suggests that he's mailing from a Pine account on
homer.iosphere.net not jmd(_at_)cube(_dot_)WestLab(_dot_)com as his mail
address suggests.
Now I'm not against commercial use of the internet (I'm writing a masters
thesis on this very topic and have a virtual server under my own .com domain
in the US) but what I do object to is off topic large unsolicited postings.
The cretin who's running this spam has simply pissed off most of his
potential market by such a ham fisted approach and ignorance of accepted
practice.
Anyway don't fall for the trap of machine names in domains suggesting a
country of origin "jp" when in fact the domain operates out of ottawa in
canada and it promoting a fax number in New York
