Re: PM: help with default lockfile

Leslie is suffering from being a noemal user on a system with the spool
directory writable by the group mail.

This means every time procmail attempts to deliver mail to
the default box, it will try locking several times without success.
The mail will eventually get through when procmail gives up, but
with pretty long delay and quite a few error msg's in the log file.
Is there anyway of stopping this short of asking the sys administrator
to chmod the directory to all permissions allowed?

Bad idea. This is a security risk of sorts.. A better idea _might_
be to turn off dot-locking. If you are using NFS this is a totally bad
idea. It is generally a bad idea in all other cases... How about
asking your administrator to _install_ procmail sgid mail?
