... maintains a database of addresses to KILL ALL MAIL FROM?
I have tried asking this before, and have gotten some help with part
of the answer but here is what I am seeking and I believe that if this
can be created using perl, procmail whatever, a LOT of people would
like to use it.
I would like to have an automatic way to take incoming spam mail, and
pipe it (within elm or whatever) to a script that will take the From:
address, and the Subject line and deposit those into a global kill
recipe in procmail that simply sends them to /dev/null.
I dot care about reporting them, sending the postmaster email, or
anything else (let someone else do all of that) ALL I want to do is
to pipe the message through some kind of script that will take the
From and Subject lines, and create a sh**list, which procmail will
look at and if anything matches, kill the post. If you want to
include those other features, like auto-mailing a bitch-letter to the
postmaster, fine, but that is more than *I* personally need at this
point.
I want this solution to a text file because it is easily edited and
does not use up Inodes like the other solution did (creating files
using touch).
I am serious. Is anyone willing to write something in Perl, Shell, or
if possible just using procmail/formail to do this in an easy, turnkey
fashion? I am sure it will be an instant hit.
If this has already been invented, please point me to it.
