I would love to get newsarticles with certain subjects in the title or by
author. I would pay for it, too. Is there such a thing?
I once used "newsclip". A fine old PERL program that examined the
history file and matched against a .cliprc to find interesing posts.
Unfortunately on a full feed to a SPARC5 it tool about 30% CPU all the
time.
So recently I switched to procmail:
In 'newsfeeds' it says:
innclip\
:!junk,!control,!*.binaries.*\
:Tp\
:/usr/local/bin/procmail -m /usr/spool/news/.procmailrc
(I know I should call it .procnewsrc :-)
Now the clipping service doesn't show up at all by "top".
Also we can do INCLUDERC ~rory/.procnewsrc to provide my very own
filters.
