my .forward is only readable by me. My home directory is world readable, 
but that is because the finger deamon does not have root privileges.

Making your home directory world-executable (but not readable) and your
.plan file world-readable should suffice for that.

The same strategy should work for .forward and .procmailrc; however,
if procmail is not running with root priviledges (or as you), you'll
have to provide world write permission to directories and folders your
.procmailrc might try to write to (or create locks in).  I suggest
622 permissions for such folders.
