I installed procmail several months ago as my local delivery agent
under
sendmail to replace the awful mail.local. This has worked great! No more
file locking problems. I have also played with the scripts as far as
separating mail in my inbox.
I now have a couple of projects which require me to expand my use of
procmail.
1. auto-responder. I've read that procmail can do this, I'm just not
sure
how to go about calling procmail from /etc/aliases and parsing out the
return address to send a file back via sendmail to the original author.
2. pager-gateway. I also need to parse the from: and subject: headers
to
send along with the first few lines of the message to my alpha pager
software.
Can someone get me headed down the right track? TIA!
