I am running procmail v3.10 on an alpha running Digital UNIX V3.2C. We
are using procmail as the local delivery agent for sendmail.
I have a user that is having trouble with procmail forking lots of
processes owned by him when he isn't using procmail to filter mail
or forward mail. It forks so many processes that it degrades the
system and they must be killed. This person is in lots of aliases
that get alot of mail (root, etc...)... When it happens, he says
he just opens 'pine', reads some mail, closes pine and there are the
procmail processes owned by him. It doesn't happen everytime he
reads mail...just sporadically.
Lots of us other people on the same system are using procmail to
filter our mail and we are not seeing any problems.
I am stumped. Any suggestions on where to look or how to get more
information?? I didn't see anything in the logs when he said it happened
last... :(
Thanks!!!
P.S. Is this an actual mailing list that I can join or a private one??
BTW: I got v3.11pre4 today and compiled it. I will test it and get it
ready to install soon. ;-)
