I'm adding pre-sort headers this way:
:0fhw
* ^From someone(_at_)aol\(_dot_)com
| formail -I "X-Prefiled: aolguy"
(that is done on my ISP's computer right when my mail gets delivered
Here's the weird thing:
I download my mail via POP3 and run it through my procmailrc and
the "X-Prefiled" line all of a sudden gets lost. I can see it when
it hits my INBOX at my ISP, but when it gets to my machine, no
X-Prefiled line.
So I look at the headers, and the last header line is the word
"Status:" with nothing after it (and the X-Prefiled line get added
AFTER it). When it gets to my machine, TWO X- headers (which are
there at my ISP) have been deleted.
If I remove the Status line at my ISP like this:
:0fhw
* ^Status:
| formail -I "Status:"
then everything else works fine.
Anyone care to guess why?
Note: at the top of my local rc file, I have this:
:0wfh
*^From PopOver
| formail -I'From ' | formail
(any message I get from my POP3 server has this header)
I'm rather confused about this whole thing. Is the Status line
important for anything? Most of the time it seems to be empty on
messages I get.
