Apparently this is where it got split?

Does anyone have a suggestion on what to look for?

If you use Sendmail, set it up to quote unquoted From_ lines in
message bodies. Procmail should be able to do that too -- the message
must have been split already before it got to Procmail.

The message wasn't split before it got to procmail, but rather it was
split by his mail reader. Don't change anything on the sendmail side:
only one sendmail mailer should be doing "From " escaping, and that's
the *FILE* mailer. Instead, give procmail the -Y flag (in your
.forward file or in the Mlocal mailer defintion), so that it knows that
it needs to do the escaping.
