Hello guys,
I got this message in my mailbox. I am not sure why Derald sent it to me
privately (as a reply to one of my recent mails to the procmail-list), but
I am afraid I cant be be of much help to him.
Hence forwarding it to the list.
Thanks,
Vikas

Vikas,
I have spent a great deal of time reading up on procmail. I have a Redhat
2.0.29 system running on a 486. I have put the
procmail.g file /etc with a procmail.rc file that I got from someone on
this mailing list.
This is what I want to achieve:
A user set their SMTP system to be my Redhat Linux machine
They send a message using SMTP from their POP3 mail software to this linux
system
How do I know that procmail will pick it up and not sendmail first? I
assume that they both need to be running on the Linux system?
I then want the mail (mail that makes it through the procmail filter) to go
on to the "real" SMTP server for actual mail processing.
I have around 1500 email users from various parts of the world that
currently use my NT system for SMTP/POP3 services. Of course
I have NO anit-relaying capability so I am getting relayed to death. This
is why I am trying to see if I can implement a procmail solution.
I use Post.Office on NT 4.0 currently, but I want to use the Linux system
as a "middle man" for processing mail.
I am on the right track?
