I should have seen this on my last go-through of that man page...I don't know
how I missed it. I added the rule from the man page and it works, except I
get the following message in my logfile for every email I get:
formail: formail: cannot open
My rc file is exactly from the man page (and the other two emails I received
from people on this list, thank you :)

and it is the first thing in my overall rc file, except of course for variable
configuration.
