rc file upload and incoming mail

Hi,

what happends if there is mail processed while I
do some FTP upload of the RC that is called. 

a) RC is not processed, what happends? Side effects
possible?
b) Processing stops, delivered to DEFAULT.
c) Procmail waits and retrys later
