I know '3.11pre7' does. Its an option you can set in one of the source
files, no patch involved.

It'll create it if needed.
I'm not an expert on this but I believe all the above to be correct
from what I've learned playing around with it. Hopefully someone will
point out my errors if incorrect :-). There is also a popper (by the
same author ?) called 'cucipop' which also natively supports a hashed
mail spool.
