This recipe tells procmail to use a lock file. However, it can't
determine a name for this lockfile. It can only do that when
delivering to a mailbox. (Or when appending the output from a script
to a file like this: script >>mailbox .)

This will work:
:0c:guardian.lock
| $HOME/.guardian/guardian

(Or without the second `:' - which means don't use a lockfile.)
