Re: Procmail goes crazy

Recently, procmail began writing to the disk (in my unchanged backup to
disk routines) and keep writing, and keep writing till it filled up the
space and couldn't continue. Then the ISP would delete the file and it
would start filling it up again -- in the end, the ISP deleted the
.procmailrc and the procmail program.

The ISP said this seems to be a common thing he's seen with procmail and
that's why he doesn't like it to be used on his system.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

I'm sorry, but my ESP is on the fritz again. You'll therefore have to
send to the mailing list the following information: the version of
procmail involved, the platform that it's running under, the _entire_
.procmailrc involved along with any included rcfiles, and a precise
description of the problem (say, what file constantly grows). If
procmail is invoked via shell scripts, they should be included as
well.
