No Progress With Win95 Mail Transferring

1999-02-26 15:43:58
To Whom,

At this point, I'd like to say that I have made some progress with the
mail transferring from Win95 to Linux... but nooooooooooo!!!!!!

I'm including below much of the information that is available for your
viewing to solicit your help. Before I go into the excerpts, I'd like to
explain what I have encountered thus far.

I'm using the script at the end of procmailrc man page, along with
formail and procmail. The script doesn't seem to change anything no
matter what options I put with formail. I've tried -tkr, -ds, -m, and
the other option that makes "From" a return address with "From -". I
also ran tests as "formail [options] < [filename] >> [filename].

The problem that I've been able to conclude resides in two areas. First
the "From -" fields, then the lack of formail to notice the other
e-mails further down in the file. Although, once the file of e-mails has
been processed as one e-mail - all the "From -" end up with an escape
(>) in front of them (at least, that's how procmailrc refers to them).

Finally, as you can see, the "From -" field is bogus. Even though I used
formail to change it into something respectable it added a ^M between
the address and the date/time, which could be caused from cat-ting the
information to my workable file from Win95 (but, at all times ^M-s are
not visible). I listed the other fields to show that there's plenty of
header for formail and procmail to react to. I will continue to have
this problem because it is necessary. If any of you can offer help, it
will be more than welcome.
