Yes, you need to do a "chmod go-w .promailrc"
My .procmailrc is:
-rw-r--r-- 1 andy tek 2443 Apr 2 17:08 .procmailrc
If I remember correctly, procmail also checks if others can write to
your home directory. If they can, then they could change your
.procmailrc and steal your mail.
My home directory is:
drwxr-xr-x 88 andy tek 13824 Apr 11 10:54 ./
