I run Solaris 7, sendmail and procmail v3.13.1 on a Ultra5 workstation.
A couple of days ago Sun announced some patches for Solaris 7 which I
installed. Since then procmail has quit working, no log entries, no
messages, nothing.
Anyone heard of this or got any ideas how I can start troubleshooting
this? BTW, The patches can't be backed out AFAIK.
Let me know if you need any more information.
Well, it depends on the content of the patch. Sometimes Sun releases sendmail
stuff, and if you apply a patch that contains sendmail updates, your
sendmail.cf, sendmail, and various other stuff got whacked by the installing
patch. It is for this reason on Solaris that I have backup copies of stuff (like
sendmail.cf, sendmail, etc.) so if a patch whacks sendmail, I just copy the
working stuff over the patched stuff (since my working stuff is quite a few revs
past where Sun is at the moment).
To me it sounds like sendmail.cf got whacked, which also means sendmail got
over-written (if that is a problem).
