Don't do that! It may be your problem.
$HOME could well be different paths on different machines.
HOME should already be set to whatever the path to ~joe is on
whatever machine it's running on (and if it turns out to be
a different actual directory and/or disk, such that your
.procmailrc and/or .forward aren't where it's looking,
then you have a more complicated problem.)
