Sorry for being vague; I meant a *permissions* problem writing to his mail
spool. Of course there was a problem of _some_ sort!
Second wild guess: he has a leftover lockfile on his spool (or a leftover
kernel lock?) from an old procmail process that aborted, and every message
he gets has procmail waiting for that lock to go away.
| Bingo. Removed the old lock (from 03/28/2001 no less) and the system
| cleared up within 5 minutes.
