Then your current problem is probably not with procmail. It's most likely
with qmail. I can't help you there, but maybe Aaron Jackson or someone else

MAILSPOOLDIR is still set to /var/spool/mail in src/authenticate.c, does
that affect anything ?
No. MAILSPOOLHOME has higher priority than MAILSPOOLDIR.
Why does my log file remain empty ?
At the top of your .procmailrc file do you have the following lines (or
something similar)?
LOGFILE = $HOME/procmail.log
LOGABSTRACT = all
VERBOSE = on
If so and nothing's getting logged in ~/procmail.log (or wherever you have
your LOGFILE defined), then procmail simply isn't being used to deliver your
e-mail. You need to tell qmail to use procmail for delivery somehow.
