Re: Mangled mail, "F" in From dropped

It is likely that the problem will go away if you upgrade to procmail
3.22. I had the same problem and it went away after that.

Good luck.

Hello,

I am running sendmail8.9.3/procmail3.21 on FreeBSD 3.5 Stable
(using /var/mail/$USERNAME).

I occasionally (too often) get messages in a given user's mailbox
which have the leading "F" ommitted from the initial "From". This
causes the message in question to be "mashed" into the previous
email in the mailbox. If it's the first in the mailbox, mutt claims
the mailbox is not a mailbox (improper format). Basically, it's
causing the mailbox format to be violated and it's jacking up
user's email (and occasionally mine ;).

Has anyone seen this? Fixes? References?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

mike
