Greetings all. I'm in need of some assistance on a munging recipe,
or examples that I can use. I use procmail to remove specific
messages that I know for certain are spam that can't be matched with
my MTA. I'd like to go parse the assorted spools full of this spam,
munge every instance of my users' addresses (replacing it with
munged(_at_)mydomain(_dot_)net), prepend a string to the subject line, and send
it off to two address (FTC and NANAS). Can anyone offer any insight
into this? I've never used procmail to alter the body of a message
or alter any information in a header. Once I've munged the mail
spools (or perhaps during the munging--suggestions?) I'll use formail
to send the messages to the news.admin.net-abuse.sightings newsgroup
bot for posting and to use(_at_)ftc(_dot_)gov(_dot_) I don't want to do it with my
users' information (addresses at least) in the message.
Wait, I forgot to mention something else. This will change things a
bit. I'll probably have to munge and mail at the same time because
of this. I need to quote the entire message (headers and body) into
the body of another message that gets forwarded to those two
addresses. I need to prepend "[email]" to the subject line of the
quoted spam and use that for the new message's Subject. I guess this
greatly complicates things. Would I be better off munging the spool
and outputting that to file. Then run the munged spool through
formail?
