I want to thank Sean B. Straw / Professional Software
Engineering for taking the trouble of reading my message and
providing a detailed reply.
He is right I think, when he states that the problem is
mainly from Outlook but alas, I cannot afford to write
software which will not work with Outlook.
It was obvious that the problem was within the headers, for
the original message worked without a hitch and if it had
been a DNS problem, it would have not.
I have solved the problem at least temporarily, by altering
the script to recognize a sender with the list mailing
address as a vlid sender, i.e. the "From:" header contained
the list address neighbors(_at_)arlenbeach(_dot_)com instead of the
sender's mailing address. This way it works with replies.
Your point of not using the nomenclature .cgi for a scriipt
that does not interacts with HTTP is well taken. I do it
for convenience, however. It is easier to edit by clicking
on it, it opens it in the default text editor, when I am
exploring in Samba. Since I am blind and some things are
more difficult for me, I simplify whenever I can.
Thanks again for your help.
