Last but not least: I understand the sandbox suggestion, but can't
remember how do you re-process from the command line a mailbox file
previously created. What's the trick?
Andrew replied,

Give that man a UUCA. Better,
formail -s procmail < mailbox
If you are positive that there is only one message in the file,
procmail < mailbox
will do the job.
Quick question here, and this may be a Courier IMAP issue rather than a
procmail question, but here goes.
Courier IMAP appears to use the last modified date of the file when using
Maildir format, as the "received" date. Is it possible to get Procmail to
tweak the Maildir file modified date so that it doesn't appear that all emails
are new after reprocessing (as you would get if you used a modification of the
idea above to reprocess a Maildir)
Thanks
