Nah; just use formail (part of the procmail package) and the -A option to
'A'dd a header.  Something like

  :0 f
  /path/to/formail -A X-Procmail: `date +yourformat`

would do it (but always test safely yourself!).  If there's a
possibility of an already-present X-Procmail header, you can use -i
instead to rename it to Old-X-Procmail and then create your own.
