Messages cause fetchmail to crash? [OT]

2002-11-11 00:40:56

I use procmail to get filter my mail after fetchmail gets it. I've noticed I have to restart fetchmail fairly frequently, after going into my mail server and manually deleting a message that cause fetchmail to implode. Does anyone here know what's happening ort can anyone point me somewhere?

Here are the headers from a recent message that bombed fetchmail:

top 1
+OK Message follows
Return-Path: davidokoro(_at_)eircom(_dot_)net
Received: from mail02.svc.cra.dublin.eircom.net ([159.134.118.18] verified) by southgaylord.com (Stalker SMTP Server 1.8b9d9) with SMTP id S.0000395428 for <162(_at_)southgaylord(_dot_)com>; Sun, 10 Nov 2002 08:20:33 -0600 Received: (qmail 20653 messnum 71072 invoked from network[159.134.237.78/wendell.eircom.net]); 10 Nov 2002 15:20:26 -0000 Received: from wendell.eircom.net (HELO webmail.eircom.net) (159.134.237.78) by mail02.svc.cra.dublin.eircom.net (qp 20653) with SMTP; 10 Nov 2002 15:20:26 -0000

Bcc: [21,103 characters deleted]
Subject: Joint Venture (Please, respond immediately)

Mime-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit
X-Originating-IP: 80.88.129.41
X-Mailer: Eircom Net CRC Webmail (http://www.eircom.net/)
Organization: Eircom Net (http://www.eircom.net/)

The large Bcc: header seems to be fetchmails fatal flaw... Simply restarting fetchmail does no good since it will choke on the same message every time until it is manually deleted.

fetchmail doesn't write anything to the log at this point. Logging just stops.
