sendmail, procmail, and maildirs?

I run sendmail and procmail on linux, with a pretty standard configuration.
Procmail does my local delivery, and deposits messages into mbox files.  I'd
like to switch to maildirs without ripping out my whole mail system and
replacing it with something like exim.  Is that possible?
