Sure, no problem. Just change your default procmailrc to define the
DEFAULT variable to something that your new imap and pop3 daemons know
about, and convert your existing mailboxes.

And you can have procmail deliver directly to Maildir mailboxes
by appending a slash (/) to Mailbox names in your procmail
recipes. I discuss this here:

Make sure you are using procmail 3.15.2 or 3.22 because other
procmail versions have problems delivering to Maildir mailboxes.

If you haven't decided on an
imapd/pop3d package yet, Courier IMAP seems to be well loved. I don't
have experience with any others, but I haven't had problems with Courier.

If you set up an IMAP server that can serve Maildir-formatted
mailbox, you can use an IMAP tool to convert your local
mbox-formatted mailboxes to Maildir format. A good tool for this
is mailutil, which ships with Pine 4.50.

Good luck,
Nancy
