what is the difference between *deepa* and *deepa.* ???
man 7 regex is your friend:
A piece is an atom possibly followed by a single(!) ‘*’, ‘+’, ‘?’, or
bound. An atom followed by ‘*’ matches a sequence of 0 or more
matches of the atom.
In your case 'a*' matches a sequence of 0 or more 'a' characters, while
'.*' matches a sequence of 0 or more of any character.
