I manage the email system for 4 users (including myself) and we get
about 1000 real messages a day. The other users are non-technical so
I've set up some basic procmail filtering for them. I recently went
through and centralized these scripts and use INCLUDERC to make
additional modification easier. One modification I implemented was to
centralize the logging into a single file (since I am the only one who
will ever look at it anyway). So far everything is working fine-- it
there anything inheirently wrong with doing this?
The log is definitely bigger and harder to glance over... mailstat
isn't cutting it for reporting on this file. Does anyone know of a
generic log summary tool that could work on a procmail log? I could
write my own without too much trouble but I don't want to reinvent the
wheel.
