Used to do stuff like this all
the time in sed, because *awk and perl were beyond me (and are farther
beyond me now).
You sound like you need a good nights sleep, David!
What you're saying though is that a call to sed/awk is the right way to
go. Never quite having got the hang of sed, I'll use awk ;) or more
like gawk. Least-common-denominator awk is just too retarded and I only
do it if I absolutely have to.
