Re: How to bounce HTML-only messages

Greetings.

On Sunday 19 December 2004 13:26, you wrote:
Well, first of all, a high percentage of HTML-only email is spam, and a

Spam is not a problem as it's previously filtered with SpamAssassin. As
for lists, I don't subscribe to any which send HTML-only mail.

If, however, you are talking about testing the putative multipart
messages and finding ones that in truth are only HTML, that is highly
useful to find spam -- I have a recipe for it I use and love -- but,
again, I would not respond to these jokers. None of your friends or
legit correspondents should be using that trick.

Nope, again, I'm not concerned about spam. I just don't like it when
legitimate correspondents -- usually clueless Hotmail users -- write to me
in HTML (without providing a text version, that is). I want to set up
procmail to automatically send back the following message:

Unfortunately, I was not able to read your e-mail, as it appears your
mail client is misconfigured to send only HTML mail. To learn why
this is a bad thing and how you can fix the problem, please visit the
following web page: <http://www.expita.com/nomime.html>

Thanks, and I hope you can send me your message again once you've
fixed the problem!

This bounce message should be sent for only those messages which contain
only HTML mail (no text version) and which contain the header
"X-Spam-Status: No".

Any ideas for what might work for this?

Regards,
Tristan
