RE: The Password

Thanks Gerald. I read your message on the 10th - which I realised
must by the 9th in your time zone - so I just managed to make
the deadline. I ftp'd it to your site and checked
http://www.phorce1.us/bogacki/
to verify it was there.

I'd welcome any constructive suggestions but I'll keep working on it
myself - Dallman was probably right on that. I have previously
had procmail working correctly which makes this situation a bit
frustrating.

I just looked briefly at the files you uploaded there. The first
thing I see is that the TAB var is assigned a bunch of spaces,
not a tab. I've mentioned this likelihood before, and this confirms.

You asked somewhere what I expect you to do. It hadn't occurred
to me that you wanted that level of stepwise instructions, but okay:
Open the .procmailrc in a Unix-compatible editor; go to the line
where TAB is assigned; delete the spaces or uncertainly identified
whitespace between the quotation marks; and insert a tab. Exit and
save changes.

Please, please, please don't keep leaving dozens of lines of the
previous article quoted below your new material. We either know what
was there or we will go to the archives and look up the thread for
review. These posts are saved essentially forever (for some value
of forever). We don't need an ever-cascading pile of quotations
of old cruft at the bottom of every new message. If something in
the old article was relevant, then you would have quoted it
in the relevant place in your reply (it is to be hoped).

An excellent independent one-page summary of list-posting etiquette,
which I urge you to read (especially section 2.4, and in particular
its first bullet, and with special emphasis on its second sentence!),
