That ii.com page is mainly about outsourcing your IMAP needs. If
you want to run your own IMAP server, I would look at:
1] the latest <http://dovecot.org/> - it's called 'alpha' but
lots of people and companies use it in production systems
2] <http://acs-wiki.andrew.cmu.edu/twiki/bin/view/Cyrus/WebHome>
- this is probably the most featurful, mature, and robust FLOSS
IMAP server, but it is a lot of work to set up
Also, you might want to consider using Sieve instead of Procmail
for your filtering because Sieve is a *standard* filtering
language and there is a protocol, ManageSIEVE, which you can use
to update server-based Sieve scripts via your mail client, your
web browser, the command-line, etc.
