Bingo. I found another SpamBox in /var/spool/mqueue/SpamBox. Why would
MAILDIR only be used correctly some of the time?

Yet "SpamBox" does not contain the message. He's sent me 4 mails now
with the same result.
Check the directory. Perhaps you're depositing it elsewhere because
MAILDIR isn't set consistently.
