report from ISPcon

2003-10-21 16:29:19
I just got out of my presentation at ISPcon. It got a lot of interest
and the buzz in the room is that the heavy hitters think it's credible.

A number of officials from Yahoo and Earthlink are here, i'm going to
try to talk to them later.

Dave Crocker suggested that the Traveling Mailman scenario would have
undesirable second-order effects; even if traveling mailmen set
default=allow, people might stop accepting mail from them anyway on the
basis of that default; and that would be an undesirable universe.

If that's the best criticism he can find, I think our proposal's pretty
strong.
