try replacing %{u} with %{l}.

For a while I wanted to support both %{u} and %{l}, but people said I
should pick one or the other, and so "l" won because "localpart" is more
up-to-date than "username".  I'm still in favour of putting both in but
that sort of thing seems too Perlish and draws ire from formalists.

Your use of "exists" is otherwise perfectly correct and used for the
same purpose by other domains.
