Registrar "parked" domains

2004-02-04 10:25:01
While adding a few domains (that never send email) to the SPF Adoption
Roll, I had a thought... Has anyone contacted the various domain
registrars about potentially adding "-all" SPF records to "parked"
domains? I know some registrars point the domain at their own DNS
servers and add a few simple A records to point the domain itself and
www at "coming soon" pages and whatnot, perhaps they would be interested
in providing a bit of mail forgery protection to the domains they are
parking as well? I don't use parking services myself, so I'm not too
familiar with the details, but I may email my registrar (Dotster) and
suggest it if no one else already has a dialogue going with them. I
don't know how useful this would actually be since parked domains are
usually brand-new, but it couldn't hurt.
