Caller ID and patents

As the ideas in SPF and Caller ID are quite similar I'm a bit worried
about the following passage in Microsofts Caller ID paper: 'The Author
believes that it has patent rights (patent(s) and/or pending
application(s)) that relate to the technologies discussed in the
Specification". Does anybody know details about this claims and possible
implications on SPF?
