Whilst I agree with minimizing friction, I think that the approach should be
more on the lines of *creating* a path of least resistance rather than
following one. If not we risk becoming more submissive than required.
When Spock says "the needs of the many outweigh the
needs of the few", he refers to the principle of eminent domain.
