I would certainly like to prevent people from sending mail from a
non-existant subdomain of mine. With my v=spf1 mx -all record this should
fail by default.
This was discussed before, the consensus was that any mail server should not
accept mail from a non existant domain name. That's what I'm doing on my
small mail server, and it stops forged spam several times a day.
Check out my SMTP server stats at http://stats.logidac.com/qpsmtpd.shtml the
dark blue blocks are the messages blocked because they didn't have a valid
from domain.
